How an InterServe Ministries Associate may
serve in your congregation:

InterServe Associates serve on staff in a congregation for 6 - 9 months, depending on the unique needs of the ministry.
Current Ministry Implementation
Preparing And Visioning For The Future
Sustain current ministries and programs.
Encourage opportunities for closure from the previous staff person.
Assist with Confirmation Ministries.
Create a “transition team” with congregation members who have gifts in children and youth ministry.
Assist with Sunday School and childhood faith development ministries
Guide the transition team through a discovery process looking at purpose, objectives and dreams.
Provide a calming presence during the interim time.
Provide opportunities for discussion and feedback from the congregation through focus groups and facilitated discussion.
Partner with current youth committee/team for planning and implementing events.
Provide training for adult leaders in children and/or youth ministries.
Work side by side with other staff and volunteers.
Explore ideas for implementing or improving risk and safety management for ministry.
Embrace the congregation’s culture and community. Assist in developing an attractive ministry position description for a new staff person.

If your congregation has a staff member who’s in an interim or transitional role, Coaching provides effective tools, resources and ideas to help during the interim time.
An InterServe Associate may serve in a consulting role, working with the congregation through a similar process of preparing and visioning for the future as listed to the right.
